Sofia joined the FTTH Council Europe as ESG Specialist in February 2025, where she leads the FTTH Eco Platform, the Council’s initiative focused on advancing sustainability and ESG best practices within the fiber broadband industry. In this role, she is responsible for developing and managing the platform, ensuring it serves as a key resource for industry stakeholders in navigating sustainability regulations, and ESG compliance.
As part of her daily tasks, Sofia works on enhancing the Eco Platform’s reach and effectiveness, facilitating knowledge-sharing among industry players, and ensuring alignment with EU sustainability policies. She collaborates with Council members, regulatory bodies, and sustainability experts to provide research-driven insights, ESG performance evaluation tools, and sustainability reporting guidance tailored to the fiber broadband sector.
Before joining the FTTH Council Europe, Sofia worked as a Sustainability Consultant, supporting NGOs and businesses in securing EU funding, designing ESG compliance frameworks, and implementing sustainability reporting strategies. She also held roles at Amazon EU and LIOF Regional Development Agency, where she contributed to ISO certification projects, sustainability assessments, and ESG data gap analysis.
Originally from Italy, Sofia holds an MSc in Sustainability Science, Policy & Society from Maastricht University, where she specialized in corporate impact measurement, sustainability reporting, and regulatory compliance. Fluent in Italian, English, and Spanish, she has experience working in multicultural, cross-sectoral environments to advance sustainability initiatives across Europe.
