Izzet Güney

Izzet Güney, Managing Director at Cube Infrastructure Managers (Cube IM), heads the Connecting Europe Broadband Fund (CEBF) since its first close in June 2018.  He has over 30 years of Telecoms, Media, Technology (TMT) management, banking and investment experience with over USD80 billion worth of transactions in originating, structuring and managing both equity and debt investments.  He joined Cube IM in December 2016 to direct the launch of CEBF which had its final close in June 2021 at €555 million.  He was previously with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) where he held the position of Director – Head of the TMT group.  He also launched a TMT private equity platform in the Middle East and was its Senior Executive Officer investing in the region’s first MVNO and Bharti’s Infratel tower business.  He started his career at Southwestern Bell Corporation (SBC, today called AT&T) moving through the ranks of it international corporate development group to Executive Director.  At SBC, his transactions included the privatizations of Telmex and Telkom South Africa.  Mr. Güney is a computer science graduate from the University of Texas and has an MBA from the Garvin School of International Management (Thunderbird, Arizona), is married and has 4 children.
