Franz von Abendroth is CFO of Luenecom, a leading Northern German fiber optic ISP and network owner. He joined Luencom to take over the new role following the acquisition by UBS Asset Management in 2021. His task is to deal with financing matters and serve as the link between Luenecom and its owner UBS Asset Management.  Franz will take advantage of his thorough experience of the European infrastructure market and is strongly involved in implementing fiber network projects.  

Before joining Luenecom, he was responsible for Berenberg’s infrastructure business for five years. As ‘Head of Infrastructure’ at Berenberg he initiated and managed a muti-million digital infrastructure debt fund which he with his team fully raised and invested. He brings more than 20 years of banking and asset management experience, with a focus on infrastructure finance and advisory. He has worked at several international banks, including KfW IPEX and NIBC, both in Frankfurt, as well as Hamburg Commercial Bank, , and he spent six years at Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation Europe Ltd in London. Franz studied economics at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität Munich and graduated at French business school ESCP in 2002 obtaining Diplôme de Grand École, Diplom-Kaufmann and MSc
